A 22-year-old man suffered a severe injury after his arm became trapped in a rubber creper machine at a workshop in Ban Mai Na Sa, Village 13, Faikwang Subdistrict, Chiang Kham District, Phayao Province. Siam Phayao Foundation’s Chiang Kham headquarters received the emergency call on October 29 and immediately dispatched a rescue team to the scene.

Upon arrival, the Siam Phayao rescue team found the young man in pain, with his right caught in the machinery and the arm nearly severed. The team used hydraulic spreaders to carefully release his arm from the machine.

After providing initial first aid at the scene, the rescue team transported him via the Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance to a local hospital for further medical treatment, where it is hoped that the arm can be saved.

A rubber creper machine is the processing equipment used for cleaning, thinning and flattening. They are also known as ‘crepe rubber machine’, ‘macerator’ or just ‘creper’.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
