Two patrol officers from Huai Khwang Police Station have been commended for their efforts to save the life of a 32-year-old Chinese tourist who collapsed in front of a convenience store in Bangkok. Despite their quick response and CPR attempts, the man later died in hospital.

The incident occurred on 15 February at 22:35 when Huai Khwang police received a report from Wattanapong Nuphanon, a taxi driver, stating that a Chinese tourist had collapsed unconscious outside a convenience store on Pracharat Bamphen Soi 12, Huai Khwang District.

Upon arrival, officers Sergeant Major Tienchai Kaewpisut and Sergeant Major Nattawut Saengsawang found Mr. Zhou Xin, a 32-year-old Chinese national, lying unconscious on the ground. Sgt. Maj. Tienchai immediately performed CPR, as the man had stopped breathing but still had a pulse. Emergency medical responders from Rama Rescue Unit were called to the scene.

According to the taxi driver, Mr. Zhou had travelled from Nonthaburi and was heading to Ratchada Soi 16. During the journey, he requested a stop at a pharmacy to purchase medicine. However, upon exiting the vehicle, he collapsed to the ground. The driver then alerted the police.

Emergency responders transported Mr. Zhou to Rama 9 Hospital, where medical staff continued efforts to save his life. However, he was later pronounced dead.

Huai Khwang Police Superintendent Colonel Prasopchok Iampinit praised the officers for their quick response and life-saving efforts, particularly Sgt. Maj. Tienchai, who performed CPR, and Sgt. Maj. Nattawut, who assisted at the scene.

“I would like to commend and express my gratitude to both officers for their dedication to public service. Their actions reflect the commitment of our police force to assisting citizens and tourists in emergencies,” Col. Prasopchok stated.

Authorities are now conducting further investigations into the cause of death.
