Three Indian women dreaming of a free Thai vacation found themselves in handcuffs after being caught smuggling high-grade hydroponic cannabis into Mumbai, with an estimated value of 85 million rupees (32.4 million baht). Customs officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport intercepted the trio on June 4, acting on a tip about a significant drug shipment arriving from Bangkok.

The suspects—44-year-old Priyanka Kumar from Delhi, 19-year-old Ishika Kaltari from Bhopal, and Asma Bano Rajab, in her early 40s from Gujarat—were caught with nearly 9 kilogrammes of potent marijuana among them. According to a Mumbai Airport spokesperson, Priyanka was carrying 3.24kg, Ishika had 3.52kg, and Asma 1.86kg, all concealed within their luggage.

Despite knowing the legal risks, both Priyanka and Ishika admitted to smuggling the drugs, lured by the promise of a free trip to Bangkok. Customs officials became suspicious after the women appeared nervous and uneasy at the terminal, prompting a search that uncovered the stash of hydroponically-grown cannabis, known for its high potency and value.

Asma, previously a salon worker now unemployed due to health issues, confessed to being promised 6,000 baht to deliver the cannabis to an individual in Surat. Authorities suspect a larger international smuggling operation led by a Brazil-based figure, as one suspect had contacts for a Brazilian woman believed to be a supplier.

The trio has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for smuggling commercial quantities of marijuana. Investigations continue to uncover the broader network involved in this illicit trade, which appears to include routes through Thailand.

Aw, c'mon!

Dey Hindunuffin!

Yeah that valuation is complete nonsense, even Coke or Heroin would be MUCH cheaper than that in any country in the world including the hard to smuggle countries.

Conclusion - they're all lying through their teeth. I wonder what else they lie about?

Enjoy prison.
