John Bolton cashed in and America paid the price

I went to prison for defending the Constitutional separation of powers.

John Bolton (an occasional contributor to The Hill) may well wind up in prison, too if investigators uncover evidence and prosecutors decide to bring charges over his alleged classified disclosures.

When Bolton wrote his book, “The Room Where It Happened” — reportedly receiving a $2 million advance — he wasn’t just dishing gossip. He was sharing information about Oval Office conversations and national security that should have stayed secret — either by law or under executive privilege.

A federal judge already spelled this out in black and white. In June 2020, Judge Royce Lamberth warned that Bolton had “likely jeopardized national security by disclosing classified information in violation of his nondisclosure agreement obligations.” The judge only allowed the book to hit shelves because “the horse is already out of the barn,” given the publication of excerpts and the shipment of 200,000 copies of the book.

Surprised the American left arent having kittens over this. It was literally only a year ago their narrative concerning classified material was being screamed 24/7. The worst crime ever was an ex POTUS legally retaining classified documents in a highly safe and guarded place.

It was all dishonest BS wasnt it. They didnt care 2 jots. Just more blind hatred causing silly narratives that aged terribly.

If Bolton stole and shared classified material punish him. End of.

Whether or not Bolton is guilty, there's a huge difference between his case and Trump's. For over a year, the National Archives tried to get Trump to return items he had illegally taken from the White House. He did return some. Then the National Archives got information that Trump was still holding on to classified documents. Which documents were found. There was also strong evidence that he had ordered his staff to hide classified documents. That would be obstruction of justice. And there is a audiotape of Trump admitting that he had in his possession classified documents.

Just give up. The documents were all returned to him with a big Sorry Sir. Jack Smith and his false narratives are running scared.

Btw John Bolton was never President. Nor was Biden who also stole and shared classified documents. Trump was the only one legally permitted to retain classified material.

The documents were all returned to him after Jan 20, 2025. Wow! There's a surprise. As for Jack Smith, how many times are you MAGA supporters going to predict convictions for Trump investigators and various other parties Trump dislikes before you give up? How's your batting average so far?

Biden's lawyers informed the government that Biden had classified documents in his possession. He didn't lie about it. He didn't claim he had verbally declassified them.

And Trump was legally permitted to retain classified material? Before his second term?  On what basis? It's true that Kash Patel claimed that Trump had verbally declassified documents. But that was before he testified to a grand jury about the documents. Since then he has refused to discuss what he told the grand jury under oath. And as I pointed out, there is an audiotape of Trump telling folks that he had a classified document in his possession.

Trump had Michael Cohen put in prison for writing a book, an act in violation of the 1st Amendment which lead to the lid come off on Trump’s fraudulent behavior and his conviction on 34 felony counts.

This latest idiot move will also fail in Trump’s direction.
