Trump Halts Plan to Send Federal Troops to San Francisco

President Donald Trump has decided against deploying federal troops to San Francisco after discussions with the city's mayor and responses from tech industry leaders. The news comes as Trump announced on Truth Social that he had been swayed by feedback from influential figures, including Nvidia's Jensen Huang and Salesforce's Marc Benioff, voicing their concerns over the decision.

The proposed military action was intended to address crime but faced strong opposition. Mayor Daniel Lurie affirmed that he spoke with Trump, advocating for continued collaboration with agencies like the FBI, instead of militarising enforcement. Lurie stated San Francisco is improving and highlighted the city's importance as a tech hub.

Marc Benioff previously expressed conditional support for federal troops, citing policing shortages. However, he retracted this stance, later apologising for any alarm caused. Tech leaders, such as Y Combinator's Garry Tan, also asked Trump to reconsider, emphasising the ongoing efforts by local officials to revitalise the city.

Despite the recent withdrawal, Trump maintains the option to deploy troops if necessary, hinting at the potential use of the Insurrection Act. This has sparked criticism from California's Democratic leaders. Governor Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta vowed legal action against any unjustified military presence, stressing the state's commitment to preserving constitutional rights.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reassured the administration's willingness to collaborate across party lines to enhance urban safety. As discussions continue, the situation remains under scrutiny, with federal involvement in other cities facing legal challenges.

Key Takeaways

  • President Trump cancels federal troop deployment to San Francisco after tech industry feedback.
  • Mayor Lurie confirms improvements in San Francisco, prefers agency collaborations over troops.
  • California officials stand ready to sue over any federal overreach, defending state rights.

Now if this was the case in other blue states and cities there would be no ANTIFA and other radicals causing mayhem. State and Federal authorities collaborating? Most sane people would think this is how law enforcement should operate each and every day.

If you're not from CA then <deleted>.
If CA was going downhill so much then why is Silicon Valley doing so well?

Why is CA the 4th largest economy in the world now?

Why does CA have to pay so much so the GOP states are just grifters?  Between CA, WA, NY, NJ the blue states support most of the GOP states?

AI overview:

In 2023 alone, over 690,000 people left California, continuing a trend of net population loss from the state. While this number is significant, some reports suggest the rate of people leaving has slowed, though it has continued into 2024 with a net loss of over 200,000 residents to other states. Key reasons for leaving include the high cost of living, economic factors, and a desire for more affordable housing.

Is California the 4th largest economy because of its effective government, or in spite of the government?

Yes, deadbeats are leaving. Like Chevron, Tesla, Space X, Charles Schwab, Oracle, HP, along with 3-500,000 people per year.

This is a great victory for the people of California prevailing against rotten, overly aggressive nimwits, just trying to invade another city so that the circus goon can convince himself that he's a tough man.

Any source for Oracle and HP?

Thank you, as the trophy given.

I have checked the articles and see that's HP Enterprise, not HP Inc. So they guys who make servers, etc. They moved out of California even before Trump came to office, and moved HQ to Texas. I was under impression the computer/printer maker HP Inc is staying in Silicon Valley, but am aware PC division is in Texas and print division in Idaho, but that's been the case for a decade.

Thanks again.

Los Angeles tops the list, with the highest number of move-outs nationwide, and the Bay Area is No. 2. Other California cities in the Top 20 are San Diego at No. 5, Santa Barbara at No. 11, Stockton-Modesto at No. 13, Fresno at No. 17 and Bakersfield at No. 19.

The cost of living, especially housing, is the top reason residents are leaving, the study shows. Also, high taxes, concerns over natural disasters such as wildfires, social issues such as homelessness and the future of the economy.

cost of living ..  as in let the fires burn it down and don't let them rebuild so only the rich eleite and gobble it up and take over

high taxes ..  another dem/lefty  scheme tax the hell out of everyone and give entotlement to moochers ( illegals )

wild fires .. in the real world there is such a thing as forest management .. and adequate water supplie ...   just another liberal left scheme paraded                            around as "climate and enviromental concerns to control people.

homelessness  ...   must be referring to the zombie apocalypse fentanyl community like in san franciso .. it's only a concern when someone like                                              Xi Jinping visits  gavin newsom

also ...    natural disasters are not "rioting and a free for all looting campaign"   they are a direct result of idiots and anti Americans running the state

How’s the train to NOWHERE working out?

Have you received the latest edition of the SF poop maps?  The clean up in certain areas for the dog and pony show doesn’t count.  Stroll outside those perimeters.  Beware of broken meth pipes.

Put an empty backpack in your car, park it in SF, LA and stand by to see how long before a hood rat shatters your window.

Yes, I’m a California property tax and personal tax payer.
