As France commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Bataclan attacks, the nation is reminded of the ongoing jihadist threat. Authorities have arrested a 27-year-old French woman, Maëva B, linked to Salah Abdeslam, the only surviving terrorist from the 2015 attacks, for allegedly plotting her attack. Authorities discovered jihadist propaganda connecting Abdeslam to Maëva B, sparking fresh concerns about security.

The Bataclan attacks on 13 November 2015 were France's most severe in modern times, resulting in 130 deaths, including 90 at the Bataclan concert hall. The coordinated attacks involved suicide bombers and gunmen targeting the Stade de France and local cafés. France's Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez states that six plots have been foiled recently, highlighting the persistent threat.

Despite the demise of the Islamic State as a major force, experts warn of new dangers. Security measures have evolved, with intelligence services now effectively monitoring online radicalisation. According to Middle East expert Gilles Kepel, the real threat now comes from "ambient jihadism," where individuals may act independently, making detection more challenging, reported the BBC.
