November 24, 2025Nov 24 Bhumjaithai Party welcomes 14 new MPs ahead of the upcoming election | Photo via spacebar.th The Bhumjaithai Party, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, has bolstered its ranks with 14 new Members of Parliament (MPs) from various former coalition parties. This development emerged from a special meeting at the party's Bangkok headquarters on November 23, where a new committee for recruiting MP candidates was established. The arrival of these experienced politicians marks a significant shift in Thailand's political landscape. Previously aligned with the opposition Pheu Thai Party, these new MPs include affiliates of Chartthaipattana Party leader Varawut Silpa-archa and a faction led by Sontaya Kunplome. Nikorn Chamnong, director of the Chartthaipattana Party, explained that 10 MPs moved to Bhumjaithai due to challenges in advancing legislation as a smaller party, enhancing their capacity to support the monarchy and promote a "people’s constitution." Despite these defections, Nikorn assured that the Chartthaipattana Party would continue under new leadership by Kanchana Silpa-archa, Varawut's elder sister. Along with members from Chartthaipattana and the Kunplome group, Bhumjaithai also gained two former Pheu Thai MPs from Khon Kaen and Ubon Ratchathani, plus two ex-United Thai Nation Party MPs from Phetchaburi. Prime Minister Anutin voiced optimism that these additions would strengthen the party’s standing in the upcoming general election, anticipated early next year. Concurrently, Bhumjaithai has announced three prime ministerial candidates: Anutin himself, Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas, and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun. An official list of nominees will follow the party assembly on November 23, reported The Thaiger. Key Takeaways Bhumjaithai Party strengthens with 14 MPs from former coalition parties. The shift aims to bolster legislative progress and support for the monarchy. Upcoming elections see new leadership and prime ministerial candidates. November 24, 2025Nov 24 All starting to happen with the rats leaving sinking ships because they know who is going to win in the next election. With Thaksin and PT party now dealt with, their attention will turn to PP party and I bet you it will likely be dissolved like its previous incarnations were... the self-righteous petition addicted types that willingly do the military and far-right Thai conservative's bidding have already submitted their frivolous petitions to make it happen. I bet you there will be no choice other than Anutin and the BJT left by the time the polls come round... always like this, and the usual suspects keep power yet again.
