As the title suggests...I know different offices have different rules, but when I do my first yearly extension in my new passport which is coming soon, do i still need to take my old passport and photocopy all the relevant pages from that, or are the stamps they transfer to my new passport sufficient and contain all the info they need for the extension?.

Not many offices would require photocopies of ALL pages.

Copy of Photo page. Last entry stamp. Previous extension stamp (if any)

Original Visa (if stamp in pp)

Usually for my extension i have to photocopy every page starting from my original non o stamp, as that's where my extension originates from. My question was do i still need to photocopy those pages from my old passport to be used for my first extension in my new passport, or do the stamps they transfer to my new passport contain all the info needed for extension?.

I bet 10 baht it's just the info in the new passport, I'll be doing the same soon at Jomtien

Thanks, from what i've heard, they don't actually transfer the same stamps, it's 3/4 different stamps containing all the previous info. I was just wondering if anyone could clarify. Please let us know how it goes. It saves a lot of time and paper if it's only the info from the new passport they need!

That would be atypical.

The very first entry into new pp is notation referencing details of original Visa.

For some that would be many years ago and some would not even have that pp.

Certainly is not done that way at CW

To clarify, you have not had the stamps transferred to the new passport yet?

If that's the case, then certainly you will need to present both passports. Prepare copies of the front page of both and the last extension, entry info, any visa or info of the original visa the extension is based on, contained in the old passport. This is at a minimum. Your office may require more. CW does not ask for copies of all previous extensions, just the current one.

Your original Non O stamp photocopy should not be required.

Visas are not transfered however the details of that visa are entered into new pp and any subsequent passports.

If you still have the passport that has Visa stamp then take it along .

The best advice is go to your local Immigration office and ask them. Before I do my yearly extension I attend my local office and ask them want they need. I am lucky I attend a small office where they are very helpful.

ah a place like Jomtien is like a war zone in high season, they have no patience for questions, not to mention a big queue

Having done this last November, all you need is your new passport with the stamps having been transferred from your old passport. Just photocopy the new stamps and the first page. Job done!!

I only needed copies from the new passport when I did it several years ago. I took my old passport with me just in case but they never asked for it.

If you have your old passport then just bring it. It costs you nothing. I suppose you could photocopy the pages or not. You are not penalized for bringing more than you need. If it is easy to do then just do it.

Thanks, yes i would have done anyway and have been doing extensions for 15 years. I was just asking for peoples experience as every office differs.
