Drunken Row Over Money Leaves Husband Critically Injured

A married man was left critically injured after being stabbed during a drunken argument with his wife at an apartment in Pattaya on 9 January at 02:45. Rescue workers found the victim bleeding heavily from a knife wound to the upper right thigh, close to the groin, with blood covering the floor of the room. He was given urgent first aid at the scene before being rushed to hospital.

The incident was reported to the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Radio Centre in Pattaya, prompting officers and volunteers to attend an apartment building in Moo 6, Soi Mab Yai Lia 24, were led by Pol Capt Damchaloei Samkanying, Deputy Investigation Officer at Nong Prue Police Station. The call reported a violent domestic dispute with a seriously injured person.

Inside Room 5 on the second floor, responders identified the injured man as Mr Ton, a 42-year-old Thai Yai national. A blood-stained kitchen knife was found at the scene, along with a pestle believed to have been used or brandished during the altercation. The suspect, identified as Ms Mail, 48, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

According to Ms Mail’s statement to police, the couple had been married for more than four years and both worked as furniture makers. On the day of the incident, they had been drinking alcohol together and were heavily intoxicated. She said she asked her husband about money they had earned from their shared work, which led to an argument.

Ms Mail told investigators that her husband became angry, shouted at her and picked up a pestle, appearing to move towards her to strike. She said she grabbed a kitchen knife in self-defence, and during a struggle the blade accidentally stabbed her husband. After realising he was badly injured, she sought help from neighbours, who alerted emergency services.

Rescue workers confirmed that the injury caused severe bleeding and required immediate hospital treatment. Police documented the scene, secured the knife and pestle as evidence, and took statements from those involved. The injured man’s condition was described as serious at the time he was transported to hospital.

Workpoint reported that investigators are continuing to question the suspect and review evidence to determine the legal outcome of the case. Further action will depend on the victim’s medical condition and the results of the ongoing police investigation.

He's lucky. She could have kept quiet, waited until he was asleep, and then cut off his pee pee. Yes, it has happened before. 🙂

Alcohol rears its ugly head again.

Making people act violently.

Why has this story circulated the bars of Pattaya for decades? It is as if the punters get off the plane and there is a queue of Johns and Hoes eager to warn them that the todger is gonna to be sliced off! And then presumably to shout "Poom Pui", "Top Salop Salai" until it is also seared into their brains.

Bernard Trink is long dead. Learn some other words other than Pattaya Bar Thai. Move on! Please.

It's hard to know exactly what happened from the story, but it sounds like he might have gotten what he deserved. There's never an excuse for a man to physically attack or abuse a woman and if and when the woman fights back all bets are off and perhaps the men is getting what was coming to him.

Alcohol does seem to bring out the worst in some people, and many people need to stay away from it completely.

Driving a car can have the same effect.

My God, 40 days with Phuket Girl and I never got stabbed. What good fortune.

Time to count my blessings.

Some say love is the grandest in Thailand, hence why males from all around the world travel to Thailand, to find love and romance. 🤣

Fair enough. A quoted reputable reference.

There's quite a lot on the internet about it. Apparently, Thai women lead the way. 🙂

I should never have returned. I escaped once. 🤔

Money + Booze ( ⧺ drugs) = Lethal

If one lives alone, then one need not worry about being stabbed in this way.

Live, and learn.
