A 21-year-old father has filed a police complaint after the unexplained death of his two-year-old son in Nakhon Nayok, asking authorities to urgently halt the child’s cremation while an investigation is carried out. The case was reported to Mueang Nakhon Nayok Police Station on 21 January and has raised suspicions of possible abuse by the child’s stepfather. Police have received the request to preserve the body pending further medical examination.

According to the complaint, Mr A, aged 21 and a resident of Nakhon Nayok province, said his son, Master B, aged two, died under suspicious circumstances. He told police that he believes Mr C, the boy’s stepfather, may have assaulted the child, leading to his death. Mr A formally requested that authorities stop the scheduled cremation on 21 January at Wat Khok Kruat in Sri Nawa subdistrict, Mueang district, Nakhon Nayok province.

Mr A said he only learned of his son’s death on 19 January after being contacted by his former wife, from whom he has been separated for one year. She informed him that the child had fallen ill and was taken to a private clinic in Nakhon Nayok town. Clinic doctors reportedly assessed the child’s condition as serious and transferred him to Nakhon Nayok Hospital, where he later died.

When Mr A asked about the cause of death, he said Mr C responded that the child had died from a bloodstream infection. However, Mr A claimed he was not allowed to see the medical autopsy report. He further stated that his former wife later whispered to him that the child had died from a ruptured liver, increasing his suspicion that the boy may have been physically assaulted before his death.

Daily News reported that following these events, Mr A submitted a formal request for the child’s body to be withheld from cremation so forensic doctors could examine it for evidence explaining the cause of death. He told police he intends to pursue the case to its conclusion and is awaiting further medical findings before additional legal steps are taken. Authorities are expected to proceed based on the outcome of the forthcoming forensic examination.
