March 7Mar 7 My MacBook Air was showing signs of wear and tear and problems after 12 years of use. I did 6 years ago backup and reset the computer but it started acting up again with the icons just bobbing up and down when I click on them so what seems like 10-15 minutes. So I took it to a Tukcom and they said take it to Studio 7 Central, I did and the guy said he could do it no problem. They didn't. Then I went to terminal 21 and the guy in there said that nobody in Thailand can fix the problem now I'm wondering if there's anybody here in Thailand who could fix it for me, that is to Backup and Reset ....
March 8Mar 8 There's a place on Soi Country Club, a hundred or so metres on the right if you are travelling from Sukhumvit.

I have no affiliation other than having had great service there on a few occasions. Very knowledgable, very very honest (one fix would have been expensive so they showed me a workaround and didn't charge me, despite taking my machine apart to check).I would suggest at least emailing them your problem and they will advise you.https://drmacbook.com/?lang=th#Google reviews:https://share.google/uuFYDmg7jTFWK9h3P
March 8Mar 8 Popular Post I endorse the recommendation for Dr MacBook in Bangkok. You might also like to consider buying a new machine. At 12 years old, this is a very, old computer well beyond its reasonable expected lifetime. A new MacBook Air with an Apple M chip will be a revelation compared to your old machine. Alternatively, Apple just announced the budget model Macbook Neo which you might like to take a look at.

Pic from StreetView.Copy this into Google for more info ศูนย์ซ่อมmacพัทยาor look at their website here:https://macpattaya.com/It could save you having to go down the Linux route. From their website it looks like the're affiliated with Pattaya2U behind Tukcom so if they're closer you could drop in and ask them.

Dr Macbook exists solely to fix Apple machines (computers, laptops and phones). But up to you.

WHERE ?hahahhahahahahahahahaJeez. I included two links to them in my post. Are you ok?People trying to help you and you are really trying your best to ignore any advice even though it was offered with good intentions. Even if you don't click my links just write "Dr Macbook" in Google and you get links to their website, their Facebook and their location. March 18Mar 18 Author I actually had LINUX /used for 5-6 years just before I bought the Macbook which ive had for 12 years now ....and if I could figure out how to get LINUX on the Mac thats what Ill do eventually ....Ive been trying for the last 2 weeks but for now Ill restore the Macbook
March 18Mar 18 And if you can't get it repaired - Apple just released MacBook Neo for 19,900 THB. It would surely be more powerful than 2013 MacBook Air, and might be cheaper than the repair of current one.https://www.bnn.in.th/en/p/apple/apple-mac/macbook-neo/apple-macbook-neo-13-a18-pro-chip-6c-cpu5c-gpu8gb256gb-silver-2026-mhfa4tha_z9mjneElse, if you somehow like the old Air design - 2017 (same notebook but with 8 GB RAM and slightly faster processor) goes for only a few thousand baht secondhand. All Intel-based Macs have dropped to close to nothing, including former top end i9 based 16" Pros, which can be gotten at below 10% of what they used to cost and still nobody wants them. From http://www.hometownmac.com/ - just as an example. There are many shops selling those. Kaidee.com is also full of them, at even lower prices.EDIT: Before someone jumps on me with "But Neo uses iPhone CPU"... the old MacBook Air uses 15 years old 1.3 GHz dual core Intel i5 4250U, reaching only between 20-25% of the performance of A18... https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/compare_cpu-apple_a18-vs-intel_core_i5_4250u
March 18Mar 18 Author Wow looks good .......tbh for my needs this old one is fine if I can get reinstallation which I will try today ......Cheers Toma........
March 18Mar 18 Author JosephBloggs.....Unfortunately I am dealing with several things at once ....I am leaving the condo in a week and I dont have anywhere to go....I am trying to install LINUX ....troubles with the GF.....My phone has broken ......I have lost everything on the computer including ALL my Passwords ......Its a long story..........:-)
