UK spies hunt for hidden nerve agents in Iran

British intelligence officers are reportedly hunting for hidden chemical weapons sites inside Iran amid fears the regime could deploy nerve agents if the regional war escalates.

Sources say operatives linked to the UK’s overseas intelligence service are working alongside US and French counterparts in a covert effort to locate stockpiles believed to be hidden across the country. The concern: if pushed further into a corner, Tehran could unleash weapons capable of killing thousands across the Middle East.

Deep-Cover Search for Deadly Stockpiles

The operation comes after joint strikes by the United States and Israel killed Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei, triggering retaliatory attacks across the region.

According to reports, Israeli intelligence from Mossad has identified several suspected storage locations for toxic chemicals. Western agents are now attempting to verify the sites and assess whether nerve agents could be weaponised.

One British source warned the risk is not theoretical. “If Iran feels trapped, chemical weapons could become an option,” the source said.

Dubai Among Cities Seen as Potential Targets

Officials fear densely populated Gulf cities could be vulnerable.

The source suggested an attack on Dubai could cause mass casualties if chemical agents were dispersed. Millions live and work across the Gulf region, including large numbers of British expatriates.

“If they wanted to, they could kill and injure thousands,” the source claimed.

Global Health Officials Quietly Prepare

As tensions mounted before the war began on 28 February, the World Health Organization reportedly distributed emergency medicines across parts of the Middle East designed to counter chemical or nuclear exposure.

Such preparations highlight how seriously governments are treating the possibility of unconventional attacks.

Shadow of Syria’s Chemical War

Western officials also point to Iran’s past ties to chemical warfare.

Tehran supported former Syrian ruler Bashar al‑Assad during the country’s civil war, including during the notorious Ghouta chemical attack in 2013 near Damascus, where the nerve agent sarin killed hundreds.

The precedent fuels fears that chemical weapons could again enter a regional conflict.

Mixed Signals From Tehran

Iran’s president Masoud Pezeshkian has attempted to calm neighbouring states, issuing an apology after Iranian strikes hit targets across the region.

“We do not intend to invade neighbouring countries,” he said.

Yet hours later, Iranian officials claimed drones struck the US-run Al Dhafra Air Base near Abu Dhabi — a reminder that the conflict remains volatile and unpredictable.

What about the hidden nerve agents, biological and chemical weapons in Israel? And do not forget China and Russia, as well as the honest USA.

When everything else fails, play the chemical weapons/nerve agents card.

It's a sure sign of desperation.

Chemical and biological warfare are the poor man's nuclear weapons.

Well done the Daily Mirror.

Making the possible tasking of "British Spies" public. Should help Iran round them up!

<deleted> idiots!

If they look hard enough , they might find even Sadam's WMD's 😄

I hope Iran has them and can use them against the ground invasion that has started.

But not like the article says their neighboring countries.

Soon after the accusation of chemical weapons possession will come stories of babies being dumped out of their incubators.

The US/Israeli playbook is totally predictable by now.

Even the bit players are trying to do a star turn.

Trump confusing Hamas and Iran. Mind you, there is no doubt the Iran regime has committed terrible atrocities on its own people:

Asked about Iran’s criticism of the US allegedly targeting a desalination plant, US President Donald Trump responds by highlighting Iran’s support for Hamas, which carried out atrocities on October 7.

“They are among the most evil people ever on earth. They cut babies’ heads off. They chop women in half — take a look at October 7. Take a look at one they’ve done over the last 47 years,” Trump tells reporters aboard Air Force One, appearing to conflate Iran and Hamas.

“I know nothing about a desalination plant. They’re complaining about a desalination plant. We complain about the fact that they shouldn’t be chopping babies’ heads off,” Trump adds.

While there was initial testimony of babies beheaded on October 7, it was never verified by Israeli authorities.
