Englishman was jealous over a bar girl talking to a Finnish guy. He asked for a cigarette, then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the Finn‘s head. The bar girl immediately called the police and the drunken Englishman was arrested. The police confiscated the fully loaded gun. The Immigration Office was informed and the process for blacklisting the Brit, as a social danger, will be carried out.

On 22 August 2007, at 4:30 PM, Police Lieutenant Colonel Santi Chainiranam, Pattaya, was informed that an Englishman pulled out a gun and threatened a Finnish tourist at the Jane Beer Bar, Pattaya New Plaza, Pattaya Second Rd. and rushed to investigate. At the scene of the incident, there were many witnesses; tourists and bar girls, gathered around discussing what had happened. Mr. Jonathan Qvarnstram (26), from Finland, was anxiously waiting for the police to arrive. Mr. Qvarnstram told police that he was drinking with a bar girl and a guy sitting at the next table was looking at him in a hostile manner, as if he were upset that Mr. Qvarnstram was sitting with that particular girl.

The man at the next table came and asked for a cigarette, but he declined to give him one. The guy was quite angry, pulled out a gun and pointed it at his head. During that time Mr. Gaew Gaew-Sa-ad, (38), the bar owner intervened and took him out of the bar to prevent bloodshed. The angry Englishman kept his gun and rode the motorbike away. The bargirl immediately reported what had happened to the police so they could arrest the dangerous man. The police communicated with the radio police to find the man.

Later, police were notified by traffic police that the dangerous guy was at Moo Baan Chat-Gaew 3, Soi Khao-Noi 11 and rushed to investigate. On arriving, police discovered neighbours and local police attempting to detain the guy, who was drunk and belligerent. Police searched his body and found a nine millimetre, Noringo gun, loaded with three bullets, as well as, one empty bullet casing. Police took the man to the police station to calm him down. On the way to the police station, the drunken guy acted erratically and pulled his pants down. Police attempted to calm him down and forced him to dress properly before continuing the investigation. This drunken guy, Mr. Henley Spensor (32), from England, was still behaving belligerently and asked police to bring him some beer. Police had to utilize the assistance of a foreign volunteer to calm him down.

On interrogation, Mr. Spensor claimed that he bought a gun from a policeman, named, "Noi", for 7,000 baht, to use for protection. He said that he has never been afraid of Thai law. However, police put him in a cell to calm him down. He was charged with possessing an illegal gun and carrying a gun in public without permission.

Mr. Gaew Gaew-Sa-ad, the bar owner, told police that Mr. Spensor had been a regular customer, but on the previous night, he had a big argument with his girlfriend who is the owner’s niece, which caused Mr. Henley to engage in some heavy drinking. He then went back to his house. Mr. Henley came back to the bar the next afternoon to have some more beer and was obviously quite drunk. He asked for a cigarette from Mr. Qvarnstram, who declined to give him one. Mr. Spensor was angry and pulled out a gun, which he pointed at Mr. Qvarnstram’s head. Mr. Gaew had to stop him and Mr. Spensor went back home, where he was arrested. Mr. Gaew said he had no idea where Mr. Spensor had obtained a gun.

Mr. Qvarnstram reported to the police station to make a statement. He didn’t press charges against Mr. Spensor, as he was uninjured, but only frightened. Obviously Mr. Spensor was very drunk and probably jealous over the bar girl. Police consider that this behavior very hazardous to public safety and have to be very strict about prosecuting such cases. Immigration Police will be informed so they can blacklist this man.

What a farkin' <deleted>! Blacklisted is a good idea, but what about jail? He'd get 5 years in the UK for what he did. :o

No he would be sentenced to 5 years, appeal and get his sentence halved and only do half of that,(15 months).

It must be very scary having a drunk point gun in your face, just being deported and blacklisted is no punishment or deterrent to others I would not feel sorry for him if he got 5 year in the Bangkok Hilton.

Hmmmm wonder how many others are like him sitting at a bar with a loaded gun??? :o
This is unfortunatly all to common now, these louts/cowards seem to love the idea of obtaining a gun here, he is just very lucky that the gun wasnt taken of him and used on him ( mores the pity ),. i personally hope he is thrown out of thailand and a nice arrest warrant awaits him on return in the uk ,as i have no doubt this will be a criminal there as well as here,. good riddance to the <deleted> !

That's awful... he would get 82 minutes in jail in Los Angeles for that. But when you're a nicotine addict, and you want a cigarette, I guess almost nothing will stop you.

I hope this incident doesn't hurt British-Finnish relations.

But that bar girl must have been REALLY good at something, for two guys to both want her so bad.

A gal like, of that quality, of that high calibur, only comes along once in a lifetime.

I'm sure both the bar girl, and the British guy are real "catches".

He looks like an excon , probably on a fake passport.

Too many of them in Pattaya these days. Send them back to Spain!

He looks like a younger version of me!

Except for the doggie tongue.

But who did he need protection from? If he's here on vacation, should be no problems. If on illegal business, then he shouldn't do stupid things like this.

Keep him confined until he's deported, inform HM Consul, contact the local papers back home. All done and dusted.

Mr. Angerstein

English Tourist injured in Walking Street fight

Pattaya’s Tourist Police Unit based on Walking Street responded to a fight-in-progress in Soi Diamond, just off Walking Street in the early hours of Saturday Morning involving an English Tourist and a Thai Man.

Mr. Gary Angerstein aged 45 from England was detained by Tourist Police and taken to the Tourist Police Mobile Unit located at the start of Walking Street where Rescue Workers attended to head injuries sustained in the scuffle.

Police questioned both sides and predictably there were two sides to the story. Khun Supat aged 43 claims that Mr. Angerstein attacked his 5 year old daughter in Soi Diamond, during a scuffle started when a motorbike taxi driver used his horn to move Mr. Angerstein out of the way.

It is alleged that Mr. Angerstein punched the taxi driver and a brawl involving more than 10 Thai men occurred. Mr. Angerstein explained that he was attacked by a group of more than 10 Thai men for no apparent reason :o who used bottles and other weapons.

He sustained serious head and facial injuries and required stitches in a wound on his nose and head. The case was transferred to Police Lieutenant Colonel Sumet from Pattaya Police Station who listened to both sides of the story and decided to fine both Mr. Angerstein and Khun Supat 100 Baht each for causing a disturbance in a public place, before they were sent on their way with a warning not to cause problems again.

=================================================

No word on whether or not Mr. Angerstein's brother-in-law, Mr. Belligerentowski, was involved or not.
