Accommodation Information on TDAC

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm finally coming back to Thailand next month for the very 1st time

since last year, and I'd like to ask you a question about how to fill in

'Accommodation Information' on TDAC.

I'm actually going to spend a few nights at my Thai friend's in BKK first

before going up to Chiang Mai to enjoy Songkran. I'm going to book a

hotel room up there then.

My question is if I could choose 'FRIEND'S HOUSE,' should book a hotel

room in BKK and use the address OR just use the address of the hotel

in Chiang Mai as Accommodation Information on TDAC.

As you know, I'd have to give the address of my Thai friend's if I chose

'FRIEND'S HOUSE' on TDAC, which makes me wonder if the Immigration

would contact them about me or not.

Thank you in advance!

I would suggest just being honest on your TDAC ... nothing wrong with FRIENDS HOUSE. I had a visitor a few months ago, advised him to use friends house and gave him my address.

We traveled around after he arrived, Koh Tao and Hua Hin, never gave it a second thought.

You're supposed to give your first address in Thailand after arriving, so in your case, your friend's house. If you feel more comfortable giving them your Chiang Mai hotel's address, don't overthink it. Unless they question you and notice that your check-in date doesn't match your arrival date, it will make no difference.

Only problem with adding your friends address is they are then supposed to complete a tm 30 notification that a foreigner is residing at the address as well

Put either address.

The TDAC gives instant "completed" Status.

Instant completed status, is not instant accepted status as I recently found out on re-entering Thailand from Laos. Don't assume the instand completed status along with QR code has been accepted by their Mickey Mouse system.

So what transpired. What issue did you have upon reentering.

I've been traveling out of Thailand regularly with zero issue on reentering in regards to TDAC

A cautionary note.

My Israeli friends arrived at Chiang Mai airport on Wednesday. They listed a Chiang Mai hotel on their TDAC and arrived with no return ticket.

I persuaded them to stay in Chiang Rai at my friends hotel and we made a booking for them there.

Immigration at CNX gave them a hard time. They called the hotel in Chiang Rai who confirmed they had a reservation and were eventually released to come here.

The hotel ( The Legend) said it was the first time immigration have ever called them.

My takeaway is always make sure your fist stay listed here or given verbally can be contacted and will confirm your booking.

In their case they had the following red flags…

  • Israeli

  • No Return ticket

  • Wrong hotel on TDAC

Thanks very much for all your comments!

I'd say that maybe I'd book a hotel room in BKK and use the address

as Accommodation Imformation on TDAC, whether I stay there or not.

I won't have a ticket out of Thailand with me because I'll come back to

Vietnam from Thailand via Chong Mek in Ubon Ratchathani Province by

land.

I did get stopped at Chong Mek about a year ago with no booked hotel

room or return ticket out of Thailand. That (female) officer told me to

book a hotel room on the spot and show her the booking confirmation

before she finally let me in. I didn't even stay in the hotel but in my Thai

friends' in BKK, though.

Hope that helps.

Why don't you book a hotel in Ubon then?

That's a good question.

From Pakse, Laos, I'll always take an international bus to Ubon and then hop on a night train straight down to BKK.

I see, would be nice if those sleeper trains filed TM30 notifications. 🤣

Oh, I loved that joke! 555

TBH I don't remember how much times I've travelled back to Thailand from

Laos like that. I'll always take rapid trains, one of which leaves Ubon very

early in the morning and the other 2 in the evening, so I'll always go for

either of the evening trains, which will save me some money!

Maybe I could use the address of my Thai friend's as Accommodation

Information on TDAC (most of the family members used to or work for

Royal Thai Army), but I'd think it better to use the address of a hotel

in terms of TM30 or something, which could be a hassle to them.

My problem now is that all the trains from BKK up to Chiang Mai seem

to have been booked out for April 10-12, so I might end up having to

buy a ticket for a 3rd class seat and keep on standing all the way. 567

Thank you again for your comments as always!

Hi All,

The other day I made it back to Thailand with the address of a guesthouse on TDAC (not that of my Thai friend's in BKK) no problem! And not a single question was asked by the IO!

Happy Songkran!

What question could he ask.

You filed a TDAC that's it.

  • Author

I haven't booked a ticket out of Thailand yet.

And I heard that some have been asked by

the IO to show them 10,000B-20,000B cash.

That's why I said, 'And not single question

was asked....'

I'm back in Chiang Mai now, where I can feel it

a bit dusty but the people are gearing up for

what they call 'Water Battle' now.

That has always been a possibility entering visa exempt.

Nothing to do with TDAC
