Trump Erupts At WSJ ‘Sucker’ Jibe Calls the Editorial Board IDIOTS

Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on The Wall Street Journal after one of its columnists claimed Iran had “taken him for a sucker” in ongoing ceasefire negotiations.

The US president took to Truth Social in a furious tirade, branding the paper’s editorial board an “IDIOT” and singling out writer Elliot Kaufman over the explosive headline.

Kaufman had argued Tehran had effectively outplayed Washington—repeatedly making promises around the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, only to reverse course and extract further concessions.

Trump wasn’t having it.

Trump Hits Back Hard

In a series of all-caps posts, Trump insisted Iran had been weakened, not strengthened, by his actions—boasting that the US had “decimated” the country’s leadership and left it fractured.

“For 47 years they’ve taken advantage of every President—except me,” he wrote, before escalating his attack on the newspaper’s owner Rupert Murdoch, accusing him of steering the publication into decline.

He dismissed the Journal as a “failing political rag,” claiming it was “no longer required reading.”

Ceasefire Extension Fuels Fury

The outburst came just hours after Trump extended the fragile ceasefire with Iran—holding off planned military strikes at the request of Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir.

According to Trump, Pakistan’s leadership urged Washington to pause, giving Tehran time to present a unified negotiating position amid internal divisions.

The US will maintain its naval blockade and keep forces on standby while talks continue.

Critics See Weakness

But critics argue the extension plays directly into Iran’s hands—buying time while offering little in return.

That’s the core of Kaufman’s “sucker” argument: that Tehran is dragging out talks, leveraging delays, and exploiting Trump’s reluctance to reignite full-scale conflict.

High-Stakes Gamble

Trump, however, is framing the move as strategic patience—insisting he’s in control and under “no pressure” to strike.

With tensions still simmering and negotiations uncertain, the ceasefire now looks less like a breakthrough—and more like a high-risk pause in a conflict that could reignite at any moment.

And if Trump’s latest outburst is anything to go by, the war of words is only just heating up.

According to Donald Trump, it seems everyone’s an idiot... conveniently, with one very notable exception.
