Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines, Dana Kursh, has urged firm enforcement of laws against foreign tourists following reports of misconduct on the island of Siargao. The call comes after social media posts highlighted alleged misbehavior by Israeli tourists in the popular surfing destination. Kursh emphasized that local authorities should take action, including arrests or fines, whenever laws are breached.

The ambassador, speaking at a media event on April 23, clarified the need for tourists to respect local culture and laws, noting the Philippines' reputation for hospitality. She distinguished between offering consular assistance to nationals and ensuring they face consequences for misconduct. "If they are misbehaving, that’s not distress," she stated, advocating for stronger legal responses to maintain order.

Kursh mentioned specific concerns such as bridge-jumping and urged penalties for ignoring safety warnings. She also warned against stereotyping all Israeli tourists based on these incidents, highlighting how social media can exaggerate isolated events. Thousands of Israelis visit the Philippines annually, often developing close ties with local communities, particularly those connected to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Israel.

While acknowledging the benefits and challenges of tourism, Kursh plans to visit Siargao to meet with local authorities and promote responsible tourism. She also intends to work with Israeli media to remind travelers of their responsibilities. Her remarks focus on the importance of cultural respect and proper law enforcement in maintaining positive relations and sustainable tourism.

Stop the incidents and there would be no stereotyping.

These crimes against humanity and war crimes need to stop .

The ICC and ICJ need to bring charges against the perpetrators in Brussels.

The World cannot just stand by and let bridge jumpers continue with their crimes .

Wearing shoes in restaurants in Thailand , Jumping off bridges in the Philippines , whatever next ?

Ordering a pizza with pineapple on it ?

Ban all Israelis from leaving occupied Palestine .
