Ear, nose, throat specialist?

Featured Replies

If you've had a positive experience with a specialist of this type I would appreciate a recommendation.

Need to have something checked with my throat. So if you've ever had laryngoscopy and remember the cost, that would be helpful. Thanks.

Plerase indivate where in Thailand you are.

And what sort of problem exactly, as there are sub-specialties. As you specify that you think you need a laryngoscopy, you might need an ENT who is also a head & neck surgeon.

I posted in Chiang Mai forum but some mod moved it.

Please use your heads mods, where do you think I'll get more responses to a chiang mai specific query??

I was in CM on a Thursday and Dr Chatmanee at Bangkok Chiang Mai hospital had a clinic that day. ......

She used an endoscope. I guess it's called a laryngoscopy, the camera goes up the nostril and down the back of the throat. Completely painless, just a little awkward sensation when going up the nostril, that's it....The service in the clinic was really first class. The equipment was all brand new, exceptional, more cameras and recording equipment than a TV production studio..!................

The surgeon's level of English was impeccable. I felt very confident throughout. I didn't make an appointment and I was in and out within an hour, including a little wait time prior and while they prepared the invoice, see attached....................

From the detailed conversation I had with her, and comparing to experiences I've had in the West with other exceptional surgeons, it was clear to me she was on top of her game. I really appreciated the run through with the videos describing and explaining everything afterwards.....If I ever needed head or neck surgery, I would be knocking on her door...........................................

I don't know anywhere in the world where one can just turn up at a hospital unannounced, see a surgeon with all of the above and walk away within an hour and pay the equivalent of 4500...Thb......Just phenomenal......

Thanks, something in the back of the throat (not deep) that feels like a lump that may have developed a lesion. I'm assuming it will be a case of first visit - exploratory, second visit - biopsy if necessary. May need to be handled by seperate doctors/locations.

That is definitely something an ENT specialist can help with. Mind you, it may not always be because of a mass. It could be reflux, or even just nothing. But seeing an ENT specialist is the way to go.
