Mayor Belmonte shared the news on Facebook, highlighting the addition of 8 new buses for Route 6, which will run from Quezon City Hall to Gilmore via Tomas Morato. Previously, the program already had buses for Route 1, connecting QC Hall to Cubao. The initiative places Quezon City with the largest electric bus fleet in the area.

The expanded service includes amenities like free Wi-Fi, six CCTV cameras, and features for persons with disabilities, such as ramps and wheelchair spaces. Mayor Belmonte emphasized the permanency of the free ride program, ensuring residents of its lasting availability.

Operations for the new buses will commence by May 11. Routes include key areas such as QC Hall to Cubao, Litex/IBP Road, and General Luis, among others. The service operates daily except on holidays, providing crucial connectivity across the city.
