May 24May 24 Just nearly finished planting (broadcasting) 11ry rice fields. Nice rain and seeds are shooting, but flocks of birds have moved in.What's the best way (from experience) to stop the birds landing or feeding on the new fields?
May 24May 24 How much do you want to spend? Is it a remote location? What do the neighboring farmers do?I am not sure scarecrows work. The birds seem to ignore them. Unless maybe you change the shirt everyday?Japanese propane cannon but might get nicked if the land is remote. There are outdoor bird repellers that emit sound. (1500 Baht) My local Imm. has one that sounds like a hawk.Have a look on Shopee for bird repellers or bird scarer. Edited May 24May 24 by VocalNeal

May 24May 24 What they do in my area is to use ,Put, in Thai, fireworks, bangers, same as they use at Thai funerals, Ping-Pong bombs? you can get them for a few baht from your local market. But, the Thai way is, you light the fuse, then put them in a catapult and fire them into the field, not recommended for Frarags, get a Thai in, to do the job, a bottle of whiskey and he will be happy. It works well, but someone needs to be they most of the time, but, soon as they is any amount of water in the fields birds will stop coming, they do not like getting they feet wet, you might get a few storks, but they will just eat the small shellfish/muscles.
