Conspiracy theories about 9/11 continue to gain traction online, two decades after the attacks.

"USA DID 9/11" = conspiracy theory.

But that it is a beneficial military event for USA - this is actually an obvious fact.
From a military perspective, any American war has a limit of approximately 50k lives lost (Vietnam Iraq etc). If a war requires more lives, it is considered too expensive.

9/11, however, only ~2k people died, but as a result, the entire world began to support and aid the US in its wars in the Middle East. Based on the standard cost of an average war(50k) one can consider that enormous military gains were achieved almost for free, with minimal military losses.

Statistical Evidence: A 2009 Public Policy Polling survey found that 27% of self-identified liberals believed President Bush intentionally allowed the 9/11 attacks to happen to justify a war in the Middle East, compared to just 10% of self-identified conservatives

Yes. There are several polls that specifically asked Americans whether they believe the U.S. government was involved in planning the 9/11 attacks, and some break the results down by party.

2017 Economist/YouGov poll

This is probably the cleanest partisan comparison I found. Respondents were asked whether:

“The U.S. government helped plan the attacks of 9/11.”

Results:

So, interestingly, there was essentially no partisan difference: about 21% of Democrats and 21% of Republicans thought the government definitely or probably helped plan 9/11. Independents were somewhat higher at 25%.

There was, however, a difference by ideology:

Conservative	22%

So the idea wasn’t particularly a “left-wing” or “right-wing” belief in this poll.

2023 YouGov conspiracy-theory poll

A later YouGov survey asked essentially the same question. 20% of Americans said the claim that the government was behind the 9/11 attacks was definitely or probably true. YouGov noted that Republicans were more likely than Democrats to believe most of the conspiracy theories in that survey, although the article doesn’t give the party-specific 9/11 numbers in its summary.

An important distinction

There’s a tendency to lump several very different beliefs together as “9/11 conspiracy theories”:

1. The U.S. government planned 9/11 — strong conspiracy claim.

2. The government knew an attack was coming and failed to stop it — quite different.

3. The government covered up important information afterward — different again.

4. Saudi officials or intelligence services had some involvement — another distinct proposition.

5. Iraq/Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11 — yet another claim.

For example, a 2013 Public Policy Polling survey found 22% of Democrats, 33% of Republicans and 28% of independents believed Saddam Hussein was involved in the 9/11 attacks.

Bottom line

If you’re asking “Are 9/11 truthers predominantly left-wing or right-wing?”, the polling doesn’t support a simple answer.

The 2017 YouGov data are particularly striking: roughly one-fifth of both Democrats and Republicans accepted the claim that the U.S. government helped plan 9/11. Academic research likewise finds that conspiracy beliefs aren’t consistently associated with either the political left or right; they tend to become partisan when the conspiracy itself is tied to a partisan political issue.

If you want, I can also dig up  every major 9/11-conspiracy poll since 2001 and make a chronological Democrat vs. Republican table.

What is the job of politicians and the military? To defeat rivals and enemies. If you want to defeat the enemy, you can't just come out and say, "Well, dear Vlad, tomorrow I want to carry out this and that operation," and you, dear Xi, know this: "I'll do this and that in Taiwan." Of course, if you want to win, you'll engage in conspiracy and deception. That's the essence of your job.

Therefore, creating conspiracies isn't some unusual state—it's the daily work of politicians and the military.

However, weaving conspiracies isn't easy if society constantly asks questions. Therefore, journalists used the work of the great Russian scientist Pavlov, who studied the conditioned reflexes of dogs, to develop a conditioned reflex of laughter in society when someone mentions conspiracies.

It was clearly an inside job.

The only conspiracy is that the guy whose passport survived the crash and was found on the street was flying the plane.

Or that the 2 planes thay crashed into the field and the pentagon vaporised into thin air.

Or that building 7 collapsed neatly into its own footprint due to being hit by debris. The one the BBC announced had collapsed 20 minutes before it went down.

OK, can you explain why the BBC was involved in the plan? I would think that if you want to keep something as big as this secret, you not gonna involve public broadcasters at the other end of the globe in the planning. One could as well have posted the blueprints of it on FB.

The BBC couldn't plan a prayer in a mosque.

They even screwed up the timing of the release of the propaganda. 😄

Announcing it had collapsed as it still stood in the live images in the background. 20 minutes later. Boom. Straight into its own footprint at freefall speeds after a couple of hours of localised office fires.

Not to mention the "plane" that crashed in the field leaving zero debris and a round crater.

Oh yeah the pentagon didnt have cctv either. The pentagon. No cctv. 😄
