Application for extension of retirement visa - STM 10?

Featured Replies

I think I've seen someone mention that some immigration offices now require STM 10 - Affidavit of Family Relationship to Thai National even if the application is for extension of retirement visa! Does anyone know if this is required at Prachuabkhirkhan Immigration?

No, I don't understand it either, except for what is written on the form "Affidavit of Family Relationship to Thai National"

For my last extension at CW, I attended office desk to obtain required forms.

TM 7 being main one along with overstay acknowledgement forms and the one you mention.

I chucked the "family relationship" form.

It's irrelevant for extension retirement

  1. There is no such visa type as a retirement visa.

  2. You cannot extend a visa.

  3. Your applying to extend you temporary permission of stay exactly as stated on the TM7 form.

  4. STM10 is only required when applying based on Thai family (spouse, children).

Those corrections are correct however only necessary when post/thread is unambiguous.

I daily refer to annual extension based on retirement when in fact the extension is based on being 50+

Only an issue when confusion with eg Non O-A etc

No confusion in OP post.

The topic title is ambiguous to begin with.
Without correction, folk may actually believe they extend their visa.

We know agents and IO's often use that phrase, but we should do better and advise so.

Surely you are joking.

The OP question very clear and does not require semantics.

Any moderator is welcome to edit the title and post. I am personally fully aware of that there is no retirement visa and was a bit quick with my question when sitting filling in the other forms relative to applying for extending of my temporary permission to stay.

Understanding the difference between a visa and a permit is not semantics.

Joking .......... ask those that left the Country and received a 30 day stamp on re-entry, and there are those on this forum that have admitted to that in the past.

Reverting to the issue raised in the OP, it is my understanding that those seeking retirement extensions are only liable to be asked to complete the following supplementary forms:

STM2 - Acknowledgement of terms and conditions

STM9 - Acknowledgement of overstay penalties

STM11 - Consent to fact-checking and information verification

However, since immigration offices tend to have their own versions of these forms, it is probably not a good idea to download these from a central source beforehand. My office (Rayong), for instance, have their own versions of the STM2 and STM9, and I'll no doubt find out next month when I apply for my latest retirement extension whether they also now have their own version of the STM11 (having never been asked for this form in previous years).

So my advice to the OP would be to chill out on the STM10 point he has raised. In the highly unlikely event of this form being required by Prachuabkhirkhan for retirement extensions, he will no doubt be presented with their particular version of this form for completion when applying for his next extension.

The three forms used for retirement extension in Bangkok are:

STM 2 - Conditions

STM.9 - Overstay penalties

STM.11 - Consent for fact check

A little off-topic question here but I have never been asked about STM-11 and did not have that form on my computer but have downloaded it now. And the question is what to fill in under the name of company/partnership and coordinator when you are retired and your income / pension comes from abroad?

Thanks

Just leave that field blank.

In the main they want your signature at end of form.
