Reentry permit desk at BKK is zone 2.

Go up escalator for security then back down to immigration.

The desk is left of immigration lines.

Best to use the optional 200b service mentioned in first post.

Obtain reentry permit prior to immigration.

Yes, it is open 24 hours. If no officer is present, just find an immigration officer and let them know you need to purchase a re-entry permit and they will find someone to man the desk.

It takes about 15 minutes normally.

I did one last year. There were 2 people ahead of me in the queue. Took totally 20 minutes. When I left there were 6 people queuing, likely the wait time would be 40 minutes or so as it is a one by one process.

Yes you will be processed 24 hours.

One time I was gobsmacked at DMK where there was a LOT of folk outside of office for reentry permit.

The overstay fine guy also joined the permit guy to process the applications and I couldn't believe it was done within 30 mins.

Other times has taken few minutes.

Note for others: At DMK the reentry permit desk if after immigration

Just past immigration check

Also, if you have access to Fast Track you can walk airside to the permit desk at zone 2.

You can go through any passport control or fast track and ask for directions to Zone 2. They only accept cash!

That does work however I find it bad form.

My understanding is fast tract not available at Zone 2.

So yes you would use fast tract another entry and in some case be accompanied to Zone 2 as you are airside..

Geez just go to Zone 2 or obtain permit at local immigration
