Pattaya motorists, residents and visitors should plan ahead for extensive road closures and traffic changes during the Pattaya Marathon 2026 on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September. The race will require roads to be closed, routes diverted and traffic controls imposed at numerous points to protect runners and the public. Saturday closures focus on central and beach areas On Saturday 26 September, the main affected roads will include North Pattaya Road, Naklua Road, Pattaya Beach Road, Pattaya Second Road, Central Pattaya Road and South Pattaya Road. Many traffic restrictions are expected between about 4am and 8am, although traffic management at some locations will begin from 12.01am. The official plan identifies major closures from 4am to 8am, with certain sections remaining restricted until 9am. People are advised to avoid the beach frontage, Dolphin Roundabout and surrounding connecting roads during these hours. Access into and out of some sois will be temporarily altered, with drivers asked to follow signs and instructions from officers on site. Sunday to cause wider disruption Traffic arrangements on Sunday 27 September will be more extensive, with closures and controls planned from 12.01am until 11am. The affected route covers North Pattaya Road and Dolphin Roundabout, Pattaya Beach Road, Pattaya Second Road, South Pattaya Road, Walking Street, Jomtien Second Road, Jomtien Beach Road, Sukhumvit Road and parts of the Central Pattaya area. Depending on the location, motorists will face full closures, one-way systems, contra-flow traffic and compulsory turns. The Pattaya Central underpass and lowered-road section will be closed in both directions, with contra-flow arrangements in place. Under the traffic plan, vehicles travelling from Central Pattaya Road towards Sukhumvit Road will not be allowed to turn right.
