Most eventually returned, yet thousands remain camped on the beach , now staging protests with Spanish flags and banners demanding asylum rather than repatriation to Morocco,a display of the "grievance culture".

This open border appeasement overloads local resources, sparks diplomatic rifts with neighbors, and forces the entire Schengen zone to absorb the fallout through secondary movements and security strains.

The USA can learn from the EU and UK’s failed approach once more,when any single nation looks the other way on illegal entries, the rest of the system inevitably suffers the downward spiral consequences of uncontrolled migration,exactly as it will if the far left regain control and revive the same policies.

I used to be independent and non political until everyone else thought it was cool. Now I'm just strictly trump, as his policies mirror my own and its not going to be better than this. Why now is a good time for living rather than later. Once he's out, no guarantees what will happen as incentive for politicians to do good isnt there anymore for anyone to help people other than themselves. That's whays so ironic about things tge way it is now. The virtue signaling as a front when these people are the most selfish. Be wary of anyone eager to show how openly willing they are to help everyone before themselves and their families

Oh look, someone else opinioning on the legislative process in the EU without understanding it.

"Policies and laws" are not imposed by the European Parliament on its unwilling constituents. In broad terms, what actually happens is that 1) the European Council - which comprises of the 27 EU heads of state or government - defines the policy goals and strategic direction of the EU; 2) The European Commission then 'translates' this direction into action plans and legislative proposals; 3) The European Parliament then debates reviews, and approves the legislation before 4) passing it to the Council of the EU for final approval: Of course, none of these organisations act in isolation; there is debate both within and between the various bodies throughout the process.

It is clear therefore, that EU laws are NOT imposed by an over-arching EU parliament on unwilling member states, but that the individual member states are involved continually and continuously throughout the process (Note: I am not suggesting that all individual member states' views carry the same importance. Obviously Germany's opinion - and Italy's for that matter - carries more weight than Malta's).

It is pointless passing laws if they are not going to be adhered to and enforced. Broadly speaking, it is the Commission's responsibility to ensure compliance.

In the specific case which you reference, Italy was found to be in breach of the 'Dublin Regulation' which came into force in 2004. As a result, the Commission was permitted to sanction Italy until it complied with the law. The attached link gives a good overview of the case:
