This is encouraging news. I'm looking forward to the Democrats working on reducing the growing social program costs and striving for a balanced budget.

And this excerpt from the NZ Herald this morning is a "shocking eye-opener".......

"America’s gross national debt has topped US$40 trillion for the first time, an ominous milestone for an economy that sits on a shaky fiscal foundation after decades of borrowing to pay for the rising costs of the military, social safety net programmes and President Donald Trump’s tax cuts.

The shortfall between what the United States spends and what it earns through taxes and other revenue now exceeds the size of its entire economy.

This year alone, the United States is on track to borrow more than US$2t ($3.3t) to help pay for its obligations, including spending on the war in Iran and the sweeping tax cuts that Republicans enacted in 2025. Soaring interest payments to investors who have purchased America’s debt now make up about half of that red ink, pushing the United States into a deeper financial hole.

Trump has promised to restore fiscal order, yet many of his policies have only exacerbated America’s financial woes.

When he first ran for the White House in 2016, Trump said he would eliminate the national debt within eight years by making new trade deals and jumpstarting economic growth. Since then, the national debt has doubled".

Magas still winning????????? LOL.

You are the kind of poster who does not understand any of these issues.

I hoping the Democrats take both the House and the Senate. Then let the chips fall where they may.

A shame. I thought you had moved beyond the "what is a woman" stage.🥲

Let us hope that the Container Coward King gets trounced coming November. If he loses the house it will definitely result in diminished power and if the dems are able to take the Senate Trump will become doubly impotent.

He simply won't be able to handle that and his three primary choices will be suicide, resignation, or just disappearing into the background and becoming completely irrelevant.

Regardless the world would celebrate and it's likely billions would take to the streets, to celebrate the fall of the toxic garbage man.

thats the test for normalcy in this world.

if you beleive that there are men and women and thats it, you are normal.

if you belive that someone can change sex by saying so, then you arent anchored in reality.

we know where you stand

IMO Trump is working on defaulting on US debt. He has form in that respect.

What he doesn't understand is it would mean the demise of the USD as the world's reserve currency.

Clinton and Obama had some success in that respect, I can't think of a Republican president who did.

If you want to give yourself a good laugh look up the video of Australian comedian Jim Jeffries ‘The Village People Want to Sue Us’.

It’s comedy gold.

Well he ( like simple me) certainly doesn't understand why the US administration, having $40 Trillion in debt, much of which is held by the UK, European countries, Canada, China and Japan is working so hard at abusing those debt holders, and <deleted> with their oil supplies!

But then, of course, it has taken Trump to cook that one up!
