Thai Airways Flight Returns to Frankfurt After Landing Gear Failure

Thai Airways flight TG921 bound for Bangkok declared an emergency and returned to Frankfurt after a problem prevented its left main landing gear from retracting after takeoff. The crew transmitted the international Squawk 7700 emergency code shortly into the flight and abandoned the long-haul journey. Aviation reports indicated the Boeing 777-300ER remained near Frankfurt while the crew reduced the aircraft’s fuel load before landing. The plane returned safely to Frankfurt, and no injuries were reported among passengers or crew. Thai Airways had not immediately released a detailed explanation of the mechanical fault or confirmed rebooking arrangements for affected travellers.
