Canada hands contracts to Iran VP’s son, while CSIS probe News...

Hey Mr. Bessent...Canada hands contracts to Iran VP’s son while CSIS probes his IRGC missile work.

Canada was handing over $2m in government contracts , including to the RCMP and Department of National Defence to the son of a former Iranian VP who CSIS says helped develop missile systems and sanctions evasion networks for the IRGC.

The Edmonton businessman operated under an alias and kept winning deals even as Canadian intelligence was investigating his past work building anti aircraft missiles and jamming tools aimed at American aircraft. Just another reminder that the regime’s networks run deep and some so called allied leaders are still slow to close the door.

"But the Ghafouri case stands out for the seriousness of the allegations about his suspected role in Iranian weapons proliferation, the length of time it has taken the government to act and his extensive contract work for Canadian agencies".

“This is yet another example of the way Canada has failed to take seriously the threat,” said Iranian-Canadian human rights activist Kaveh Shahrooz, who reviewed the CSIS report on Ghafouri for Global News"
