Stay of maximum 55 days .

Hi, getting older so staying less time through the EU winter . Never had problems. I’m 73. Winter stays always legal since 1984.

Now, I am quite capable of understanding the new regulations. I need a 60 day tourist Visa.

Or, enter on 30 days Visa exempt and do an extension at my local immigration.( very used to doing this , and I repeat , never a problem.

Asking this as apparently the new Tourist 60 day Visa is very complicated to fill in . I must admit I get by generally, but a friend said all the up loading and downloading was a pain the the backside. Plus statements etc .

I’m in France and have never bothered with the Thai Paris Embassy as they are downright hopeless, arrogant and rude , and have posted to « apply 4 weeks before flight. » How ridiculous ! With all that paperwork too. Another Frenchie had to leave without his Visa it was so long.

My question, entering on a 30:day exempt, am i guaranteed that they ( immigration) are not going to change those rules again and refuse me an extension , which will oblige me to do a trip to Cambi or Laos or wherever.

Any risks? Can I contact a Thai visa agency by email and ask ? They helped me with my visas during Covid. I hate hassle and like to do things properly with no risk. Im a fusspot. Thanks for any tips or news of extension changes.

There's no risk in counting on a 30-day extension from immigration. It's basically a foregone conclusion as long as you apply for it and pay for it.

The only risk you run is if your airline requires proof of leaving Thailand within 30-days if you travel without a visa. So you might want to check with them that they do not require proof of onward travel within 30 days for people that are traveling visa exempt to Thailand. If they require it and you don't have it, they will not let you check-in or board your flight until you show them proof.
