Business bank account which bank is quickest?

Featured Replies

My son is going to open either kasikorn bank or Bangkok bank business account.

Anyone opened one recently as told it can take a few weeks for it to open and he has just registered his buisness account and wanting to get going ASAP

Wondering if Bangkok bank is better as seen quite a bit of negativity towards Kasikorn lately

I have always really liked Kasikorn never had any problems and proof of funds for my yearly stay take less than 15 minutes

I’ve got two Thai companies here. Bangkok Bank was a nightmare for me, Kasikorn is fine for basic banking, and SCB is the one I go back to over and over.

From what I’ve seen, you’ve got it the wrong way round. Kasikorn wouldn’t be the one I’d be worrying about, despite the negativity you’ve read.

That said, the bank matters less than the branch. What slows a corporate account down is whether that branch has dealt with a company with a foreign director before. Some get it done in a morning; others send you back three times for documents they could have listed on day one.

Ring ahead and ask straight out if they handle corporate accounts with foreign directors. Then go to that branch rather than the nearest one. A good realtionship the long term bank staff goes a long way.

Check their document requirements before you go. In my experience, the company affidavit needs to be fresh, usually issued within the last month. Take the company stamp (good tip: I register all my companies without one) and have all directors bring their passports.

Hi its my sons business (Thai)

I am not going near it which makes it easier

No company stamp as when he registered they said it wasn't needed as he can sign instead

SCB sounds perfect

He did try to open a normal bank with bangkok bank a few years ago and they didn'treally want to and opened with kasikorn but though a business account might be easier
