Hi.

I'm hoping to visit Laos this coming October. Does anyone know who flies from Phuket or BKK to Vientiane - Laos. So far I've only found ThaiAir flights and they are more expensive than I had anticipated. I'd like to compare a few other airlines, as I'm sure others must fly this route, however I must be looking in the wrong places as I'm not finding much.

No direct flights from Vientiane to Phuket and I guess Thai and Lao aviation are the only ones flying from Bangkok to Vientiane. Instead of directly flying from Bangkok to Vientiane you could fly to Udon Thani instead, which is alot cheaper. Air Asia, Nokair and of course Thai fly Bangkok - Udon so check their websites. From Udon you can take the bus to the lao border in Nongkai.

Right now Nokair has a promotion for 990 baht (including tax ) one way to udon if you book in advance.
