Do I Need Return Ticket(onward Travel?)in This Case?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I posted here about 1 week ago,but still have a few questions. My situation is-travelling in greece on a british passport.I tried to apply for the 2 month tourist visa for thailand at the embassy but refused on the grounds that i am not a greek resident. My plan is to fly to bangkok on a british passport(so that gets me 30 days)with a onward ticket to malaysia which gets me another 2 months if i apply for the tourist visa. And then do a total of 3 30 day extensions(visas runs)to get me a total of 6 months. My questions are-can i fly to thailand on a single ticket but with a onward to malaysia(all in 30 days?)And can i get the tourist visa then in penang or kuala lumpur?many thanks

Yes and Yes. But some airlines freak out on one way tickets so no guarantee on that score; but you should be OK.

You may not be able to obtain 30/visa/ext/3x30 however is the rule is not more than 90 days in six months and unless you plan to stay out awhile when in Malaysia you might not meet requirements. I would advise two tourist visas after the initial 30 day visa exempt entry.

Edit: if you only require six months total do it 30/visa/extension of visa stay/2x30.
