Ehotelbooking.com

I reserved a hotel room on ehotelbooking.com and got a response back the next day saying the room was available. I then confirmed the reservation by emailing my credit card information this Monday night (from the U.S). It's now Thursday night and still haven't gotten a response. They're supposed to email back a check-in voucher. Are these guys typically slow in responding or have I just been scammed?

Don't think they're a scam, perhaps you should call them at their office numbers - but emailing credit card information is a bad idea under any circumstances.

**edited to add**

they appear to have a TAT number so you should be OK

Getting a fast response over the internet is not something that you can normally expect from a Thai company

Agreed - but that should normally be a secure online transaction. Emailing your credit card details is about the most insecure way to make a payment.

One day should've been enough. Anything more than that is unacceptable unless they've sent an interim email explaining that there will be a delay.

The TAT number was somewhat reassuring but as one cannot directly verify their license it only has limited value.

I expected a response within 1 day. Two days if they're slow. I know it's Thailand, but this is what I expect. I've sent several emails and have yet to receive a response. Professionalism is highly lacking.

Two payment methods were available from ehotelbooking.com - by fax or via email. I chose email. I've done so with different companies in the past with no problem.

This company does not only have a TAT number, but is also in TAT's website, http://www.tourismthailand.org/onlinebooking/default.aspx. Looks legit, but no matter whose endorsement or license a company has in Thailand, it seems irrelevant.

Now I'm faced with a situation. Do I wait for these clowns to send me the check-in voucher or make a reservation with another company? I depart in less than 2 weeks. I'm giving them till the end of Saturday, Thailand time.

Well, I gave these guys until the end of Saturday. I am relieved to say that I got the voucher at 12:40 p.m. Thailand time - 20 minutes before their office closed. So from the time I sent my credit card info to the day I got the voucher took 4 full days. Probably would have taken longer had it not been for my constant reminder emails. I will never use their services again.

I always do ebookings mainly with the Bangkok City Hotel.

I have my voucher in one minute, do not make a printout, just give them your memory stick with your vouvcher on it and enjoy free WIFI during your stay. The Holiday in charged me 1000 THB for a 24h usage. The booking works absolutely perfect using the IE. Some browsers do not work with all online booking programs.
