Flight time BKK - Guangzhou approx 2 hours 45 mins. Price wise about 12,500 Baht lastly you cannot get a visa on arrival in China have to apply for one before travel.

Google China Embassy, Bangkok or try China Visa

if you want to fly there CHEAP, or u only want to book a one-way-ticket, you can fly from BKK to Shenzhen by AirAsia, from where its a short 75 minutes ride by train to Guangzhou.

oh, and Guangzhao is a nasty and intimidating place, but thats another story....
