professional basketball players reproduce so its probably OK, but if I am 6 foot 3 inch and my potential future wife is 5 feet 3 inch, do you think it could cause problems during pregnancy/childbirth.

Since you cannot pre-determine which of the combined genes will control, no way of telling if she will have a very large baby. However, nature is involved and I suspect her genes may control birth size. There is always cesarean if the baby is too big for her birth canal.

I saw a documentary about midgets (substitute proper PC term, little people). Some of them married normal size adults, and some of the women gave birth to full size babies. There must be thousands of examples in Thailand of big men and little women.

Not starting a troll post, are you now, YoungFarangNa?

If you ever saw the "Shacks" ex-wife you would almost cry for her. She is a petite thing, about the size of an average Thai woman. I don't think giving birth is her main problem... SHe had 4 kids with him.

goofle images if you want

My wife is 4foot 9 inches, and I am 6ft. I have seen even more groteque differences. Truth is, I have never percieved her as small up until I fold some of her clothes. I guess she just has a personality that compensates for what she lacks in size. Kind of lik a Terier. But we have a son together. SHe had a C section done because the doctor felt that the episiotomy procedure was too risky for her size.

Here in Thailand I don't know what the common thought is. In America, the CYA approach is the best approach.

i had a very tall big boned husband;i'm petite at 42 kilo: all 3 kids natural birth medium to small birth weight and i quote the midwife: if i had your births, i would give birth to a dozen...

my sister in law, a large, big boned finnish farm girl: three c sections....very large babies all

its the pelvic area not the area where they do the cut that counts: the cut in the vagina is stitch able; its the pelvic area where the baby needs room to maneuver that must be wide enough... same as large breasts do not make a good breastfeeder, its the internal glands that do it...

dont worry and if there is cause for concern, a good midwife or an xray can pinpoint the pelvic problem; or if sister or mother had birthing problems due to size.

I'm 6 foot and my wife is probably 4'9 or so(Esarn). No problems with natural birth. I wonder if my daughter will be short or tall or in the middle. I wouldn't worry. She'll be fine. I too never really noticed my wife's size. When we went to the US I realized what a midget I had married! But she's a normal Thai Thai woman or Esarn woman. The younger girls seem to be a bit taller nowadays though. I would guess the teenagers are getting taller due to milk and all the other food that has been available since the 80's. But who knows, maybe the earth is losing its gravitation pull! :o:D
