Thailand Sms Via Yahoo Messenger

Featured Replies

I have been using Yahoo Messenger to keep in touch with friends in Thailand for a long time - it has worked well until the recent "major" upgrade.

Now that I took Yahoo's strong advice and upgraded to Version 6.0.0.1750, I cannot send an SMS message into Thailand. I can receive them OK.

Reception varies, with the country code sometimes shown as "66" and sometimes as "6666" before the rest of the number.

The available help suggested changing my "Preferences", "Connection", "Home Country" to Thailand. Did that, no change.

Anyone else having issues with the new Yahoo Messenger? Any solution?

Yes, a friend of mine and I both noticed that

the Travel tab, which allows alerts about

new airline pricing, no longer is available

with YM 6.0.

That one is annoying to us because of the

sporadic airline pricing practices of the US

and other airlines.

I never knew I could SMS from/to LOS with

YM.

I have used www.ipipi.com for sending/rcving

LOS SMS messages for a long time now.

They charge a nominal fee, but it

seems to me to be a well run operation.

Thanks for the tip - I'm giving ipipi a try.
