What is the current progress of the subway?  I will be moving to Bkk in August and will live in the Rachadampisek area.  This area will be possitively affected by the new subway and I hope it will be up and running soon.

The subway is complete except they forgot to buy any trains.  Should make a great marathon course; except they have also not decided to build any lavatories yet due to crime worry.  

They, late in the game, found the money to buy the trains and first is due later this year.  They plan to have free limited service starting, I believe, in April 2004.

I know one of the chief engineers for Italian-Thai working on the project. The date keeps moving around. For a while they were saying late 2003, then late 2004, jumped up to 2005 for about a week, then to where it stands now at the first quarter of 2004.

Who knows... maybe never...  ???

I heard that train story as well, but he claims it wasn't true.

Wow, no lavatories. Hopefully that changes by the time they start charging.

Are there any public lavatories in Thailand apart from a hole in the ground?
