I thought they were iris scanners but the pics of people shown on TV they just look like ordinary photos and how long do they have to keep the images for? if forever thats millions already. Do they share images from DM and SVP? No point in scanning everones iris if they aren't registered for iris scanning. Lots of uses, not least making sure the person departing is the one that arrived on that passport. Or if a terrorist is believed to have arrived on a stolen passport, they can use the photo to see who he's travelling as and how he currently looks etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

cali4995 Posted December 7, 2007 Share Posted December 7, 2007 I was at the ban laem (cambodian) checkpoint earlier in the week and I noticed they had CCTV's all over the place. going through the narrow gauntlet where you get stamped in/out. never noticed them before? is this also something new?
