November 23, 200718 yr Don't take this too seriously and go to a religious battle since its over before this post starts. There might be some ideas here for people living here in Thailand. This is definetily not about mocking anyone' religion but it is a actual Mormon hand book from where JUST some of these following rules (170) are hand picked and transferred from. This is what they actually carry with em: 1. Learn every rule and obey them. 4. Don't argue or fight 7. Cut your hair regurlarly 11. Use deodorant 14. Wake up 6.30 am 23. Close lights 22.30 26. Transfer (...form) as many people during weekends 31. Write to your parents every week on your free day 33.-59 Don't do it... (don't do it list) 71. Don't go to sleep earlier than your mate 72. Don't go to sleep later than your mate 91. Phonecalls to friends are forbidden 121. Sleep between 22.30-6.30 *just to make it sure 147. Don't drive without driving license 162. Don't drive a bike in a dark... Should we FARANGS have a handbook like this for NEW farangs that come here...(just to make your weekend topic)? And what should these rules be. Number in front and remember there's no limit. 1) Farangs should stay out late... etc. lol

November 24, 200718 yr That is not a rule book for "Mormon's" per se, that is a rule book for their missionaries. A lot of the rules may seem silly, but the reality is... for safety sake it would be a good idea to adhere to those rules. Imagine being a teenager right out of High School being shipped out to some remote place far away from any direction etc. Things can get out of hand PDQ. I am not here to defend, could care a less really. Just here to set the record straight.
November 24, 200718 yr Where is the "On a blisteringly hot day go converting the locals wearing a raincoat" rule?
November 24, 200718 yr Author Missionaire... I agree. My bad but still Mormons. Read some of their notes. Wouldn't they just fit like a glove to some Newbies coming to "night life"....? "Don't go to nightlife until you've drank 7 beers". Rule 18
November 24, 200718 yr That is not a rule book for "Mormon's" per se, that is a rule book for their missionaries. I was about to question the OP about that. I dated a Mormon girl for 3 years and even attended her church for 6 months trying to get a grasp of what it all meant and never saw her or her family with this 'book'. They couldn't 'convert' me, too many contradictions though I admit to having some interesting debates with them.
November 24, 200718 yr What would be the point, given that many here can't follow the ThaiVisa rules?
November 24, 200718 yr Rewrite of #26 : Do NOT transform anybody as long as they are happy as they are. I bluddy hate missionaries! I don't think there is a need for another list of do's and don'ts. The people (farangs) who cause the most trouble when they come to Thailand wouldn't be bothered to read them anyway.

There's always space for a useless list when its short: Rule 56. Don't eat where you pass out. Rule 89. Don't even dream of taking the best looking "girl" in the bar. She's a he!
