I am a USA Passport holder,61 years old and retired

in Thailand on a one year Non Immigrant O-A retirement visa.

Now, I have to apply for my first 1-year retirement extension.

My question is:

If I get a sworn income statement from US embassy and get that statement stamped

by Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will it be enough as for the financial requirement

as concerned for extension of my visa? If not, what else I have to do? Please help!

As long as the income meets the 65,000 baht per month that will see you right.

Hmmm, thought that "requirement" to have the embassy income affidavit chopped of by the MoFA had been dropped.  Nice to save a trip all the way out to Chang Wattana.

There is no need for a stamp from MFA. You go to the Consulate section of the Embassy (across the street from embassy building) and fill out the paper, pay your fee and sign it in front of consular officer. You take that along with passport/arrival card (and copies) and 4x6cm current photo and fill out TM.7 form (you can used download from pinned section at top of forum) and pay fee of 1,900 baht. There may be a need for current residence so if you have lease bring that and copy or other such proof. You should also have a local bank account with passbook and make copy and have bank issue a letter of current balance (1-200 baht fee) as that is usually requested although no set amount required if using the 65k pension method. Although letter from embassy is usually accepted alone you should have some type of supporting paperwork if it is requested.

Thank you very much for your detailed answer to my question.
