I know of a person who returned two months ago from Penang with a 1 year multi entry Non Imm B visa, he is employed and holds a work permit. However he insists that he has to leave Thailand every 90 days !!!

Is he right or is he getting mixed up with the 90 day reporting ??

Andy, you and I are in the same boat so to speak and I also only have to REPORT every 90 days not leave the country. Thats why I was wondering whether his Visa is different to ours

Your friend is correct. The Non Imm B is valid only for 90 day stays. The advantage with the multi is that it allows you re-entry back into Thailand for ANOTHER 90 days.

However, if he has been granted an EXTENSION based on his WP then yes......he now only has to report to Imm.

Getting mixed up for sure. I have a Non-B multi and WP, and I have to report every 90 days - certainly not leave the country.

I suspect that in your case your Non Imm B has been EXTENDED and therefore only requires 90 day reporting.

If there is NO extension of stay stamped into your passport then you still have to leave at the end of the 90 day and re-enter Thailand

As said a multi entry visa only permits 90 day stays - to stay longer than that you have to obtain an extension of stay from Immigration using a TM.7 and payment of 1,900 baht (only available if you meet the conditions) and the new permitted to stay date will be entered in your passport.
