Hi, my friend really needs help asap. She is a Singaporean and hasn't had a passport or ID for several years now. reason being not knowing what would happen if she tried to get a new passport and leaving. Please tell me what needs to be done for her to get passport and leaving the country without getting thrown in jail. No problem getting police report I know but after getting passport should she go to immigration or try to pay overstay at airport. I need all the help I can get here because she needs to get this fixed now. Thanxs

JIZTARM, once your friend obtains her replacement passport, she will have to go to

Suan Phlu to have the original entry-stamp replaced. It is not possible to proceed

directly to the airport for departure. The first thing she needs to do is obtain a police

report for the "loss" and then go to her embassy to file application. More than likely,

the embassy will give her a checklist for her to work through. I'm afraid that throwing

your passport away only creates more serious problems that must be dealt with later. :o

There is a lesson for us all here.

1. Always keep a photocopy of your passport, it simplifies the replacement procedure .

2. Each time you arrive make a copy of your latest entry stamp and TM card. It costs 1 baht or less.

This helps immigration to find your record and re-stamp a replacement passport
