Hi! Everyone,

I'm new here...I'm from Hong Kong & I planned to go for a trip in Bangkok next month. I am a pens collector & would like to visit some pens shops in Bangkok selling vintage or 2nd hand fountain pens by the big brands like PARKER, SHEAFFER, WATERMAN, PILOT....Does anybody knows where around these shops are, any details or any suggestions? Thanks soooo much for your help!! Have a nice day!

There are numerous stalls/shops in Chatuchak Market selling antiques/object D'Art largely they only open on Saturdays and Sundays but there are a few exceptions.

Happy shopping :o

There is an interesting shop on the third floor of Fortune Town, simply called "The Used Shop". They have all kinds of interesting stuff including a nice selection of second hand high quality pens. I bought a gold Cross "rollerball" pen in a discontinued style from them, and the price was really reasonable.

Not sure about fountain pens because I zoomed right in on the one I was looking for, but I'm sure there are many there.

I'm pretty sure there are guys who sell pens near the genuine rolex/high-end watches dealers in MBK.

RAZZ

Hi Bino & RAZZ, Thanks so much for your helpful tips & infos, they are valuable to me!! It's great to learn that the price of the vintage pens in Bangkok are very resonable, I hope I'll find some nice stuffs. Actually, I'm looking for some PARKER 180, 51 & 61, also some SHEAFFER PFM & Imperial...well, I'm really looking forward to the "treasure hunts"! tongue.gif Thanks again! biggrin.gif azap

HI -

i am fountain pen fan too - goes well with my nosegay and pince-nez - but you would be horrified at the ghetto no-name ones i enjoy here. i love that i can buy such a pen that is functional and looks ok for about 2 dollars and that it is certainly not so terribly different from the montblanc. sure, craftsmanship, resale blah blah, but the montblanc goes blotchy too...

will have to assault f-town too! there will be a logjam of pen nerds!

I'm happy with my Lamy - picked it up in Central for 1200 baht w ith a 1.5 italic nib - writes beautifully. Not 2 dollars, but then your Montblanc won't handle calligraphy too well.
