foolforlove Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 (edited) Hi I just got a Nikon 35mm FM2 camera second hand. I am looking for a basic photography class that would go over using the camera, developing my own film, etc. Anyone know of such a thing here in BKK? Oh and the course can be either in English or Thai. I know in the USA, community colleges always had short courses like this. Thanks Edited December 2, 2007 by foolforlove
astral Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 For taking photographs I suggest you try a Google of Film Photography courses There are several free offerings on the net. It does not matter at this stage whether the camera used is film or digital. The principles are the same. Developing and printing is another matter and needs an investment in equipment and a dark room. I suggest you use a local shop for developing and printing until you are proficient with the camera, then you can take the next step.
foolforlove Posted December 3, 2007 Author Posted December 3, 2007 i was hoping to find an in-person class, hands-on.
cali4995 Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 foolforlove, i meant to ask you, where did you pick-up that old nikon fm2? i'd heard there were some shops selling those old-time cameras in some areas of bangkok. i was also wanting to play with one as a hobby. local pawnshops always seem to have a collection of these things but with 20 year old antiques, you'd like a little more assurance the thing might actually be in working order. as Astral wisely suggested, i'm also trying to find an interesting online self- study course. it's a little shocking if you walk in a camera shop today you can't even find a film camera. going the way of the dinosaur, other than for student use, they are becoming relics.
