Thanks for all the great advice you've given. Thought I'd share with you that today the Thai wife got a job on base at the Navy Exchange making $6.50 an hour. She's pretty happy with herself right now...been thinking all week she could save up about 1.2 mill baht by the time I retire. It's tax free so she should be able to do it. It's also great there are a couple of other Thai girls working there. Most of the girls she meets are about her age but married to guys with about 20 years less time in service than me...makes for some unique moments. So I've went from "kicking her to the curb"...to a more patient temperament for the moment. This job I think is going to give her more of a sense of indepedence and most importantly...sap away some of the energy to fret all the time

That's good but I can see a problem later when you are ready to retire and she says no. Another million or two is going to look very attractive to her I fear.

At any rate should make for a very comfortable retirement when it happens.
