Suffing The Webb

Recommended Posts

Hi all

After surffing the webb you go offlline and switch your pc off.

Only to find when you use it again some off your defaults have changed, ie screensaver.

Just recently my dial up connection has been changeing from totonline to a international number apart from being anouying, I'm worried I could end up dialling international calls and not knowing until I recieve a nasty phone bill.

Anyone have similar problem and any advice to protect yourself.

Cheers

yes, if you search this forum you will find many mentions about spybot and adaware. download them both and run/update them at least once a month.

spybot - http://security.kolla.de (free)

adaware http://www.lavasoftusa.com (free)

make sure you run an updated anti virus program regularly. Ther is one mentioned a few times on this board, AVG, do a search on this board and you will find a link.

also think about installing a personal firewall and change you browser from explorer to mozilla or opera.

It does sound like you have a serious problem, I would make haste and fix it now.

hi'

as everyone said already ...

it seems that we have to repeat again and over again ... :o

protect yourself!

get rid of adwares, dialers, worms and viruses ...

better to have all the tools before to go online :D

and run them on a daily basis!

IT'S IMPORTANT !!

the web is not a quiet river :D

sorry vodka, but when I read this ... always makes me smile :D

good luck anyway

cheers

ps; just to say ... surfing the web since 95 ... never got a virus or a worm or anything else, it was @14.4kb/s at the time, now @2mb ... faster, but also faster to be traced and infected LOL
