alphason Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Hi, just waiting my WP for new job, the job will be mainly office based but sometimes they require me to work in other locations, my employer would also like me to try to do some promoting which will involve visiting customers without a prior appointment - is this allowed by the WP? I read this on angloinfo website in the info pages which says the WP must list the locations of work, how when the locations will contantly change??... "The work permit will name the employer, state the activities that may be engaged in and the location in which the duties may be performed" Thanks.
astral Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 This is correct. If you are required to work at other locations on a regular basis, they should be listed. IME visiting customers should not be a problem.
TerryLH Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 "IME visiting customers should not be a problem." Why not? It sounds like work.
alphason Posted December 11, 2007 Author Posted December 11, 2007 Thanks astral, if you stick to the rules all locations should be listed but as TerryLH says its work, therefore visiting a customer in another location should be listed? -if its not a problem do you have to just specify you will visit customers off site and these will be short term non permanent locations? will they approve this? Thanks
lopburi3 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 my employer would also like me to try to do some promoting which will involve visiting customers without a prior appointment Cold calling may not be the best move without a work permit to cover you.
