The Vulcan Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Is there anywhere in LOS where I can get professional E6 processing done? Thanks for your response

ChiangMaiAmerican Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 (edited) If you are shooting slide film on a regular basis you might want to consider a Jobo processor. You can pick up a second hand Jobo CPE2 Plus on Ebay for between $200 and $300 dollars. It will do multiple rolls of 35mm or medium format in C41 or E6. You can process everything up to 8x10 sheet film. Its not supposed to do anything bigger than 4x5 but if you Google CPE2 and 8X10 there are several threads on the big photo forums that will tell you how to do it. If yopu want to spend more money you can get a CPA-2 or CPP-2 which are more automated and will do 8x10 sheet film without a work around. I priced developing on 8x10 film here and like everything else photographic the price is ridiculous. As I recall the only place I could get it done was in Bangkok. There are 2 CPE2 Plus units on Ebay right now. Unfortunately the vendors do not indicate they will ship abroad but after Christmas more will appear and some will ship outside the US. I already had an experience with the Jobo dealer here and found it much cheaper to buy abroad and pay shipping and duty. The will not come off list price even when you show them what vensdors abroad are selling the same item for. I bought the 4x5 sheet film reels from B&H in New York for substantially less than the vendor here would sell for even paying shipping and duty. They should arrive before the first of January. About a year ago I picked up a second hand Jobo Tempering Box on Ebay and the Dutch vendor shipped it here no problem. As I recall the duty wasn't much either. They aren't very heavy eithe, just bulky. If you travel you can take it with you. Link to Jobo CPE2 Plus info. There is more info on color processing and other units on the same site. http://www.jobo.com/jobo_service/us_analog...e-2_plus_00.htm Edited December 21, 2007 by ChiangMaiAmerican
