I'm a 73-year-old US citizen who has been living in Thailand in retirement with 800,000 baht in a Thai bank in order to qualify for a long-term visa. Now, though, I must return to the US to rejoin my family (and probably for bypass surgery) and don't know how to get my 800,00 baht transferred from Thailand to the US. Thanks for any help.

If t he funds were transferred from a US bank account to the Thai bank account, it is a simple matter to now do the reverse and transfer those funds back to the US bank account. Your Thai bank will know the ropes.
