Crime Authorities Raid Pattaya Club: Underage Patrons, Illegal Migrants & Drug Use Uncovered

A late-night raid by Bang Lamung district officials exposed a host club in South Pattaya operating illegally, with underage customers, undocumented migrant workers, and patrons testing positive for drugs. Acting on complaints from the public, Bang Lamung District Chief Mr. Patcharapach Sritanyanon ordered Mr. Tharit Chancharoon, the district’s Chief of Security Affairs, to lead an enforcement team to inspect the venue on Soi Chaloem Phrakiat 35. The raid took place at approximately 03:05 on 29 July. Officers entered the premises to find more than 30 people partying inside. The authorities immediately ordered the music to be stopped and lights turned on so that a full inspection could be conducted. Initial checks revealed five patrons under the age of 20, the youngest just 17 years old. Additionally, five Laotian nationals were found working as host staff, entertaining customers without valid work permits. A urine drug screening was then carried out, with nine individuals, eight men and one woman, testing positive for illegal substances. The venue also failed to present any documentation proving it had licences to operate as an entertainment venue or to sell alcohol. Authorities have taken multiple actions: • The nine individuals who tested positive for drugs will be sent for rehabilitation. • The five underage patrons will be questioned as witnesses. • The undocumented migrant workers will face legal proceedings under immigration and labour laws. • The club owner faces several criminal charges, including permitting entry to minors, employing illegal workers and operating without licences. District officials announced that a formal request would be submitted to the Chonburi Governor to shut the venue down for five years to prevent further offences and set an example for other entertainment venues in the region.
