Hi,

This is my first post so be patient with me please.

We got married in the UK last year and will be going back to LOS in August, the wife wants to

change passport and i.d card to show new surname, old passport is only 2 years old and is bio-metric.

My question is do we get UK marriage cert translated to thai and then go to MOFA for stamp

and new passport and then go to her local amphur to change name on tambien bann or am i

missing something out.

Can anyone recommend a good translation shop near to uk embassy ?

It seems i may have got this wrong way round and that we get translation first then go wifes local amphur

for new i.d and name change on tambien bahn.

Then go MOFA for new passport.

Can anyone confirm this ?

Any recommendations for a good translation shop near nana bts ?

I think i may of put this in wrong section as i had no replies to my o.p

mods please feel free to move to new section if necessary thanks

Hoping for a response this time round :o

Sounds like the correct process, certainly get the ID first then passport. My lady did a similar thing last year, although she changed back to her maiden name (frm her Thai ex husband's) rather than take mine.

If you ride the BTS (or walk) to Ploenchit (the end of Wireless Road near the British Embassy) there are stacks of translation outlets that can do the job for you.
